Welcome Back!
Oak Tree at Santa Anita – the best boutique race meeting in the West – launches its 41st season Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Prime Picks will return with a daily serving of news and notes, full card analysis, video features and extensive recaps to make this website a “must visit” for racing fans and serious horse players. The annual opening day Oak Tree feature race – the $100,000 Morvich Handicap – kicks off a glorious first week that is highlighted by the Oct. 3 California Cup XX, a festival for state bred runners that features a full program of 10 stakes. And the season culminates on Nov. 6-7 with the two day Breeders’ Cup World Championships, establishing Oak Tree as the first venue to host Thoroughbred Racing’s greatest day in consecutive years. We’ll be doing our best to make this 31 day season both memorable and profitable, so check back often and enjoy the ride! – Jeff Siegel
