ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2014) -- Following up here on social media reports that Handsome Mike, a second starter for trainer Leandro Mora, has been withdrawn from the BC Dirt Mile on Friday:

Handsome Mike was the 30-1 longest shot in an original field of 10; his Mora stablemate, Goldencents, is the 6-5 M/L fave and could be the strongest favorite in all 13 BC events.

Asst. trainer Jack Sisterson just told DRF that Handsome Mike, a 5-year-old Scat Daddy horse with just more than $1 million in career earnings, the horse "just didn't seem like himself. He's just not 100 percent."

Handsome Mike, owned by Paul Reddam, has won three of 30 career starts. A field of nine remains for the BC Dirt Mile (3:05 p.m Pacific on Friday).
