From DMTC Publicity DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 31, 2012) -- City to City and All Star Heart, who finished noses apart in one of the most exciting finishes of the 2012 Del Mar season in the Grade II John C. Mabee August 12, will be rematched Monday, Labor Day, in the Grade II $250,000 Yellow Ribbon Handicap at a mile and one-sixteenth over Del Mar’s grass course.
City to City, topweighted at 122 pounds, got up in the final stride to deal a heart-breaking loss to All Star Heart who appeared home free until she was edged out at the wire. The weight spread in the Mabee was two pounds as it will be Monday since All Star Heart carries 120 in the race formerly called the Palomar Handicap.
Corey Nakatani again has the call from trainer Jerry Hollendorfer on City to City while Brice Blanc will be back aboard All Star Heart for trainer Ron McAnally.
Others in a quality-laden line-up of older fillies and mares are Halo Dolly, winner of the recent Solana Beach Handicap for the second straight summer; Broken Dreams and Byrony, first and second in the Osunitas Stakes in July; Go Forth North, third in the Mabee after setting the pace into the stretch; Vivo Per Lei, an eastern invader; Camelia Rose and Cosset.
