From DMTC DEL MAR, Calif. (May 30, 2013) -- Nominations will close Friday, June 7 for Del Mar’s two premier stakes for 2-year-olds – the Grade I Del Mar Debutante for fillies and the Grade I Del Mar Futurity for all juveniles. The championship events will be renewed this season on Saturday, August 31 (Debutante) and Wednesday, September 4 (Futurity).
The nomination fee for each race is $300 with no sustaining payments required. Both races are presented at seven furlongs and both carry guaranteed purses of $300,000.
Nominations for the juvenile headliners can be downloaded on-line at the Del Mar website -- www.delmarracing.com – followed by clicking on the “Horsemen” section. The forms can be filled out and FAXed back to the Del Mar racing office (858-794-1049), or they can be e-mailed directly to Del Mar at firstname.lastname@example.org
For those missing the nomination date, there is a supplemental fee of $10,000 available for each race up until time of entry.
Nomination forms for the rest of Del Mar’s lucrative 2013 stakes schedule are available at the same location.
Also, the deadline for stall applications for the 2012 Del Mar season is Wednesday, June 5. Del Mar’s 75th anniversary meeting runs from July 17 to September 4.
The stall applications can be accessed by going onto Del Mar’s website -- www.delmarracing.com – then clicking on the “Horsemen” section. The applications are the first item on the left under “Information.”
The track will conduct a 37-day meeting under a Wednesday-through-Sunday format. The lone exception to that will be for racing on Labor Day Monday, September2.
