From Barretts INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 19, 2013) -- Graduates of Barrettsʼ October Yearling Sale won the $100,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares and both open allowance races on the Saturday card at Betfair Hollywood Park.
In a three-wide bid, Unusual Hottie won the Franʼs Valentine. The 4-year-old filly by Unusual Heat, consigned to the 2010 October Sale by Old English Rancho, agent, has six wins in 13 starts, $289,498.
Earlier on the card, My Cinsation, a $27,000 yearling purchase by Mersad Metanovic Bloodstock from Havens Bloodstock at the 2010 October Sale, set all the fractions to win the third race, a $66,164 allowance at six furlongs in time of 1:09.89. The 4-year-old daughter of Cindago owned by Edward Brown, Jr., Alan Klein and Phillip Lebhertz, has a record of 4-3-0-1, $117,480.
In the ninth race, He B Fire N Ice, a $28,000 purchase from St. Georgeʼs Farm at the 2009 October Sale, surged to the lead in the final sixteenth to win a $67,886 turf allowance at one mile by a length and three-quarters for owner Cicero Farms. The lightly-raced son of Unusual Heat has won three races in 10 starts and $132,370.
