New York, N.Y. (Mar. 7, 2013) -- Daily Racing Form announces the expansion of DRF Breeding with a dedicated Sunday print edition that will debut on Sunday, March 10, 2013.  The premiere section will cover 2-year-olds in training. On Tuesday, March 12, a digital newsletter called “DRF Breeding Update” will debut to a list of over 20,000 owners, breeders, trainers and engaged industry professionals within DRF’s digital database.

The printed Sunday edition will be published weekly and inserted into all Daily Racing Form editions sold nationally and throughout Canada. This same editorial content will be featured on the DRF Breeding section of DRF.com or by visiting drf.com/breeding. Upcoming coverage includes Southwest Stallions (March 17), Hoof Care and Barns and Equipment (March 24) and the Keeneland Spring Meet Preview (March 31).

The “DRF Breeding Update” digital newsletter will deliver news recaps each Monday evening and a look ahead every Friday, offering instant access to DRF’s expanded coverage of the Breeding, Equine and Sales markets. To receive a copy of this free newsletter, sign up at DRF.com/BreedingUpdate.

“DRF Breeding was launched on Nov. 5, 2012 with expanded news coverage across DRF’s platforms and a commitment to roll out new offerings in the months ahead,” said John Hartig, CEO, Daily Racing Form. “Our recently conducted research findings helped sharpen our content and product strategy and reinforced our mission of bridging breeding and racing. With Mark Simon leading this important initiative, I’m confident we can successfully execute on new ideas that will serve to stimulate growth in Thoroughbred racing.”

Daily Racing Form will share the results of this independent Thoroughbred Industry research at two private receptions being held at the Keeneland Library in Lexington, KY on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

“The opportunity ahead is a great one,” said Mark Simon, DRF Breeding Managing Editor. “Building a Breeding and Sales resource with the deep Daily Racing Form heritage and resources is one of the greatest challenges of my career and working with the industry to accomplish this project will be a rewarding experience.”

“DRF Breeding” is the latest of several new business ventures Daily Racing Form has introduced in recent years.  Most recently, DRF introduced a number of new handicapping products to serve both existing and new customers to racing, including “DRF GamePlan,” “DRF Betting Window,” and digital Past Performances of America’s best selling print program “Daily Racing Program.” In 2012, DRF introduced DRF Harness, a new digital initiative in partnership with USTA to stimulate growth in Harness and Standardbred racing.
