Classic Horse Shows Launch in April

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2013) -- The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show Series, a set of three horse shows underwritten by the Siegel-CARMA Endowment and dedicated to off-track thoroughbreds, will launch April 20-21 at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano, with additional shows in July and October.

The Thoroughbred Classic Horse Show series is the first of its kind on the West coast, according to its organizers. These shows will provide Thoroughbred owners the opportunity to gain show experience and confidence to compete as a team in a supportive environment. The TCHS will be competitive enough that it is supported by top trainers as an avenue to transition Thoroughbreds into the "A" rated circuit and accessible enough for those satisfied or limited to showing at a lower rated show.

Riders will compete in classes for Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Combined Training, Western, and Showmanship.

The TCHS will work to develop relationships with racing breeders and owners to participate in and help promote the successful transition from racehorse to sport horse, as well as educate the community on the versatility and suitability of the Thoroughbred as both a pleasure riding companion and sport horse.
