Sunday’s first race has only five entrants and any one of three seems capable of winning it, so we’ll pass the event. #1 Saintly Spirit, popular at the claim box recently, is double jumped in class by Spawr despite being out of jail, always a positive angle from this barn. #3 Lexlenos tries the Pro Ride for the first time and if she can duplicate her turf form on the main track, she’ll be right there. #5 Lullabytime has good recent form, goes for Carava off the claim and retains Bejarano. If you’re playing any rolling exotics I would suggest including all three.
We have a nice Pick-6 carryover to attack on this good Saturday program and while there doesn’t appear to be any slam dunk singles, the scheme looks playable and the payoff should be handsome.
We’ll begin the day with a strong single and straight play in a race for maiden juveniles at a mile. #1 Setsuko didn’t get the most ideal trip in his first try around two turns and settled for second in a similar affair earlier this month. He has two races under his belt now and another forward move is likely. The son of Pleasantly Perfect remains well regarded and should take care of business and what we hope is close to his morning line odds of 2-1.
A rather shallow Thursday program presents a few attractive wagering opportunities. We’ll pass a couple of races and try to pick our spots.
The first race could come down to #1 Free Lunch and #3 Never and we’ll use them both in an exacta box and in the early daily double. Free Lunch continues to look sharp in morning drills and should be ready for an improved effort from the rail. He switches to Bejarano and his best makes him a bold threat. Never is a little too one paced to trust but he’s a solid fit on figures and should be in the thick of things throughout.
